Teacher Fired for Offering to Pray for Sick Student

In Persecuted Church on December 28, 2009 at 7:15 pm

World Net Daily has an article about a teacher who was fired by her school for offering to pray for a sick student.  This is yet another example of the increasing movement to remove The Lord and anything related to Christianity from schools.  And for teachers, even a mention of God (despite the fact that the teacher was not at school at the time) can mean being terminated.

    Biblical Principle

Matthew 5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

Bible Verse of The Day — Build Your Own Ark

In Bible Study, Inspirational on December 28, 2009 at 7:03 pm

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

11: 7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

When Jesus preached the Gospel on Earth there were some who believed in their heart and some who believed because of the miracles they saw (John 2:23). The former form of faith was the better one. How do we know this? Because it does not rely on seeing miracles or signs, but it relies on the trust that God IS who He says He IS. (“…blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.” John 20: 29)

When God warned Noah about the flood and told him to build the ark, the weather was fine. There was no visible flood approaching. Yet Noah clearly believed and had faith in God because he was moved by fear. So much so that he spent every day working on an ark while others were eating, drinking and carrying on with everyday life (Matthew 24).

Everything seemed fine. Surely people saw Noah and wondered what on Earth was he doing making this big ship in preparation for this supposed flood. They may have even scoffed or laughed as they wondered why he was doing this. Yet Noah separated himself and followed God’s Will and purpose and by his actions “condemned the world.”

And so it should be with us. We need to follow the mission The Lord has given us. If you’re not sure of your mission for The Lord start with Acts 1 and 2. Be obedient, read The Word, spread The Gospel. People should see us and notice that we are not following the world’s plan but following God’s. And just like Noah we can escape judgment and be saved. Not only that but we can bring those we care about into God’s protection from the coming Judgment as well.

The “Legion” Movie – More end-times deception

In End -Time Deception, Entertainment on December 14, 2009 at 6:49 am

There is a new movie named “Legion” that is now in theaters and it’s supposed to be about the end of the world or the Apocalypse of the Bible. But it’s nothing but a perfect example of end-time deception that seeks to distort the Bible and draw people from God and Jesus Christ.

Here is the trailer

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8lGCjd9W8U

Well first off, the main problem with the movie’s trailer is that it’s completely unbiblical. It’s just taking people and themes from the Bible and making up stories about them to pass it off like it’s in the Bible when it’s not.

The Angels

All throughout the Bible, Gabriel and Michael are good angels. Gabriel is a messenger who delivered the news of Christ being born

Luke 1: 26And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee , named Nazareth , 27To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary. 28And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. 29And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. 30And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. 31And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.

Michael, an Archangel, is the angel assigned to protect the nation of Israel . Not only does he never rebel against God, it is he who kicks Satan out of Heaven in the book of Revelation.

Revelation 12:7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, 8And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. 9And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Michael opposes Satan and his evil, fallen angels (the ones who really want to wipe us out!). He is completely obedient and faithful to God.

God “Losing Faith” in humanity

This is also a falsehood being given by this film. God is not “losing faith” in humanity at all. In fact he wants us all to live forever with Him!

2 Peter 3: 9The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

God does not want us to die or go to hell! He loves and cherishes us. So why doesn’t it always feel like that? Because of our sin. Due to our sin, we have become separated from God. But God, out of his love, provided a way that we can be reconciled to Him.

Romans 5: 8But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

God loves us so much that He sent His Son to die for us so that the punishment we should receive for our sins would fall on Him. Jesus became a sin-bearer for us. When we put our faith in Him as our Savior we are saved! That’s how simple salvation is.

The Second Coming

Although it’s only hinted at in the trailer, the unborn baby that Michael is trying to protect is the Messiah (I read this in article about the movie)! Again, this is nowhere in the Bible! Jesus took on human form as a baby in a manger 2,000 years ago. It’s not going to happen again. When Jesus returns it is not going to be as a baby. He is full grown and will look that way. And it’s not going to be a private event. Everyone will know.

Matthew 24: 23Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. 24For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. 25Behold, I have told you before. 26Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. 27For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

See how on point the Word is! Jesus knew this would happen. He warned that there will be imposters and people claiming they know where Christ is or that they are Him. But we are not to believe it because when comes back, everyone is going to see Him coming and know it’s Him.

The Real Villain is missing! Or is he..??

Notice who is conspicuously absent from this trailer? Satan! With all the fighting, demons and machine guns, The devil is nowhere to be found. And that’s just how he likes it. Satan has set up a system in this world that tempts us to sin so much, without putting blame on him. He has set up a world where suffering, pain and death are blamed on God while be don’t pin anything on him.

Satan is the fallen angel who rebelled against God. So in essence, the character “Michael” in this movie is Satan. And He is trying to tell Lucifer/Satan’s story all over again. A fallen angel who was once good, who has rebelled and now wants to “liberate” humanity from an angry, oppressive God. This is the same lie the devil told Eve in the garden:

Genesis: 3But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. 4And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

See what he did? He took God’s word and turned it around (with a subtle lie) to trick Eve.

This movie is depicting exactly what the devil attempts to do: lure us into rebellion against God under the guise of a “good cause.” All the while elevating himself and making God look bad. This movie is a classic case of deception that takes the Bible and tries to turn it upside down and sell it as real.

The real end of the Apocalypse is Jesus returning to Earth on a cloud with his angels and saints. He defeats the antichrist and his false prophet with the brightness of His coming and the breath of His mouth. He also imprisons Satan, brings back peace and righteousness and reigns for 1,000 years. God wins. End of story.

We have no need to be deceived or scared by misinformation like this. We just need to look to The Lord and His Word to know the Truth!

Bible Verse of The Day — Your Life is Your Testimony

In Bible Study, Inspirational on December 8, 2009 at 7:36 pm

2 Timothy 2:15 – Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

What an important command for the Christian believer. As Paul was giving Timothy instructions on how to pastor brothers and sisters in the faith we see that we are to “study” to show that we are truly following God. Webster’s 1828 Dictionary (whose definitions were based on Holy Scripture) defines “study” as to “endeavor diligently” or “set one’s mind.” To live a life in accordance with the Scriptures requires work. It requires dedication, humility, patience and submission to the Will of Our God. If we are going to preach the Gospel and promote Christianity, our lives have to reflect it. That way when we share the Gospel with our friends and loved ones we carry authenticity. Even if they knew us as a time when we were deep in sinful rebellion, all the better! Our changed lives provide even more evidence of how great and powerful our God is to change us so.  The second part of Paul’s admonition is to rightly divide the word of truth. We are to be straight and plain when sharing the Gospel. Jesus did not hesitate to mention “weeping and gnashing of teeth” when telling people to believe in Him and neither should we. Shame only comes when we give an incomplete portion of the Gospel or distort it to tickle the ears of our audience. Our lives are our testimony. Live the Christian life and proclaim the name of Jesus accurately and passionately, and you can rest on the Biblical assurance that your Father in Heaven approves.
