Eckhart Tolle’s “A New Earth” — Same Old Spiritual Deception

In End -Time Deception, New Age on April 18, 2010 at 10:02 pm

Only God Can Create a New Earth

USA Today ran a story last week about Spiritual Teacher Eckhart Tolle author of the book “A New Earth: Awakening To Your Life’s Purpose.” The book, which was heavily promoted by Oprah Winfrey (one of the key leaders in the New Age movement) has sold 6 million copies. Oprah also hosted Tolle on her website for internet “webinars” which over 35 million people have watched. The man’s influence is staggering. What is even more staggering is the book’s message: we can have salvation without God. And since this book and the accompanying web series has become so popular it’s important that believers understand that the message of this book is extremely contrary to Biblical Christianity. Oprah who claims to be a Christian and other Christians have recommended this book or at least suggested that its compatible with Christianity when it clearly is not. Thus we need to warn those around us about these teachings.

Kjos Minitstry’s Crossroad Website has an excellent article on what this book teaches and embodies. Among some of the principles Tolle teaches:

On Heaven: “…heaven is not a location but refers to the inner realm of consciousness…. Earth, on the other hand, is the outer manifestation in form, which is always a reflection of the inner…. ‘A new heaven’ is the emergence of a transformed state of human consciousness, and ‘a new earth’ is its reflection in the physical realm.”[1,p.23]

Of course the Bible teaches us that Heaven is indeed a real location. God created it (Genesis 1:1), John The Revelator went there (Revelation 1 and 2) and the Apostle Stephen saw it from Earth:

Acts 7:56 And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.

On Sin: “Recognize the ego for what it is: a collective dysfunction, the insanity of the human mind…. Nobody is wrong. It is the ego in someone, that’s all.”[1,p.76]

The Bible repeatedly tells us that our problem is sin. We are sinners by nature and have violated God’s laws. But there is good news. God in His love, made a plan for all of us:
Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

On Jesus: Tolle states that Jesus was one of the fortunate few who was able to awaken His consciousness and become enlightened. But He was not God. He was just a in a line of enlightened people such as Buddah. This belief of course rejects the central tenant of Christianity, in that faith in Jesus Christ’s death on the cross and Resurrection saves us from eternal damnation

The Promise of Godhood: “Was Jesus the son of God?” he asks rhetorically. “Yes. But so are you. You just haven’t realized it yet.” (from the USA Today Article).

Once again, the message is that we have “Godhood” in us, but we just need to awaken from our unconscious state and release the deity within us. For Tolle this is the key to a consciousness shift and elevation. This is just the same repackaged lie the serpent used to deceive Eve.
Genesis 3:5For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods,

Hopefully it is becoming clear as to how this type of belief system and book is nothing a Christian can adhere to. Even if other Christians are recommending it. Tolle compliments Jesus and quotes the Bible throughout his book, but that does not make it Christianity. There is a God, there is sin and Jesus is The Son of God. And it’s in Him we need to place our trust for true eternal life. God is not an impersonal force. He is a very personal Creator who is so involved with us that He sent His only Son to die for us. And one day, when the sin of this world is fully removed, after the return of Jesus Christ, we will get the true New Earth.

Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. 5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

Bible Verse of The Day – First Things First

In Bible Study on April 18, 2010 at 8:52 pm

He is Risen

1 Corinthians 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
This is the basis of the Christian faith. We can spend countless hours (and many do, myself included) debating the timing of the rapture, proofs in nature and science about fossils and flood levels or whether our universe is finite or infinite (for the record — it’s finite). But those debates are utterly pointless without salvation in Christ. “First of all” Christ died for our sins! In God’s love for us, a love we cannot either fully fathom or comprehend, He sent His Son to die for the myriad sins we have committed. In order for us to avoid the wrath of a Perfectly Just and Holy God, Jesus paid our debt to Him for us. But that is not all in this beautiful love story. Just as important in the Good News is that Jesus Christ is risen! Without the resurrection our faith is in vain. But with the resurrection we have the blessed hope and assurance that we too will be resurrected in the same manner as Jesus, by the same Holy Spirit to live eternal life with him forever.

So as we can often fall into numerous theological debates, let’s always remember this: before you get too deep in a discussion with a friend, family member, colleague or internet debate opponent, deliver the thing of first importance. That Jesus Christ died for our sins, rose again and now sits at the right hand of The Father, holding out the gift of eternal live to all those who will believe in Him. Do the people you speak with on religious issue know this? Is the person who challenges you to prove God exists aware of what the Gospel is? Does your family member who asks questions about a televangelist and your take on them understand what it means to be saved? Make sure whoever it is you are engaging in theological discussion is perfectly clear on the Gospel. Even if they state they are a Christian, it never hurts to make sure. Present Jesus Christ, the Risen Savior before presenting your position on other issues. There could be an eternal life at stake.

The “V” Series – End Time Alien Deception?

In End -Time Deception, Entertainment, Nephilim/Aliens on April 8, 2010 at 11:07 pm

The Alien Preparation Continues

2 Thessalonians 2:7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

2 Corinthians 11:13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

On March 30th, ABC brought back its series “V” a remake of a 1980’s television series of the name about the arrival of aliens (who are reptilians but have disguised themselves to look human) to Earth. If you checked the Nephilim article on this site, then you’re  aware of a time in history where the Bible states that angelic beings directly interacted with human beings, even taking human woman as wives and producing giant, hybrid offspring.  These beings were revered and even worshiped.  And there are indications of this time of interaction returning once again in the end times. Is the alien phenomena a part of this? It’s very possible. If you’re a Christian you may be wondering, what is the relevance of discussing aliens? As more and more people reject God and seek to “disprove” the Bible, aliens provide a material explanation for our creation as opposed to the true spiritual origins as a creation of God Almighty. And more and more of those who oppose Christianity seem to be promoting extra-terrestrial life.

This is certainly true in the New Age Movement, led by men like Benjamin Creme, David Icke (who claims that “V”-like reptilians already live among us) and Michael Tsarion, among others. They state that they are looking to aliens as a part of the “New Age” the Earth is entering into that will usher in the false peace of the Age of Aquarius, when all our differences will drop and we will supposedly be united in religion, government and life.
Here is an excerpt from the Share International website on aliens:

Yes, without exception the people who man the spacecraft we see are harmless. In fact they are carrying out arduous work on our behalf, neutralizing, as far as the Karmic Law allows, much of the pollution which we spew into our atmosphere, oceans, rivers and land. We owe them an enormous debt. For over 60 years the world’s governments have kept from the people the reality of these space visitors and know that they are entirely harmless. Nevertheless, when they can no longer control belief in their existence these same paranoid governments present them as abductors, brutal and seeking control over humanity. None of that slanderous propaganda is true and soon the people of the world will know that for certain. They work with our own Spiritual Hierarchy of which Maitreya is head.1

So to some, not only will aliens help us clean up the planet, they are also going to be future leaders. While the claims of New Agers may be easily dismissed, remember the Bible informs us in Revelation 13 that the end time government will be a one-world system under the antichrist and that there will be only one system of worship on the planet. This is precisely what New Age leaders are predicting. And it becomes even more connected when they claim that the New Age Leader is actually traveling in a spaceship. My point here is not to say that we should follow everything that the New Age/Occult religious leaders say. It’s to show that those who are channeling spirits and using occult means are predicting things that line up with Bible prophecy and are eagerly awaiting these events. And at the same time they are promoting these ideas to the public as something we should be looking forward to. This makes it even more important to look to the Bible for our answers and for truth and not fall for those who  are teaching otherwise.

Demons As Aliens?

“[The occultist] is brought into intelligent communication with the spirits of the air, and can receive any knowledge which they possess, or any false impression they choose to impart…the demons seem permitted to do various wonders at their request.” – G.H. Pember, “Earth’s Earliest Ages and Their Connection with Modern Spiritualism and Theosophy” (1876)

This 19th century book discussed what the Bible describes. Satan is called “the prince of the power of the air.” (Ephesians 2). The foremost leaders of Theosophy (a spiritual system based on acquiring increased knowledge taken from all different faiths and reveres Lucifer), such as Alice Bailey and Helena Blavatsky, claimed to have written their books via channeling of “spirit guides.” The Bible informs us that evil angelic and spiritual beings roam this world and can speak to and through people.

Matthew 8: 28 And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way. 29 And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?

Not only could demons speak through people, they know Jesus is The Son of God. And they also know that there is a set time in the future for their judgment.

Here are some quotes on the UFO phenomenon being spiritual and not extra terrestrial:

“UFO behaviour is more akin to magic than to physics as we know it… the modern UFO -nauts and the demons of past days are probably identical.” -Dr. Pierre Guerin, FSR Vol. 25, No. 1

“The UFO manifestations seem to be, by and large, merely minor variations of the age-old demonological phenomenon…” – John A. Keel, “UFOs: Operation Trojan Horse”

“We believe that the cultural preparations (or deliberate conditioning) of the world to view our alien visitors as powerful and highly evolved saviors makes the UFO phenomena the perfect motif for the Antichrist to exploit when he ascends to power. His ability to perform supernatural signs and wonders, his comprehensive plan for the peaceful unification of mankind and his connection to or origin from god-like alien entities will engender the masses to follow him into the biggest deception in history.” – published Missler & Eastman, Alien Encounters pp. 295-296

Enter Hollywood

Aliens speaking at the United Nations.

Hollywood has definitely done its part in keeping the idea of aliens in the minds of the public and “V” is the latest effort. To be clear, I do not believe in extra-terrestrial beings. There is no biblical basis for life on other planets. I do however, believe in spirit beings, fallen angels and demons. These are real entities and the Bible is very clear about this as it describes them in Ephesians 6:12:
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

This the true enemy of a Christian. Evil spirit beings who currently are being permitted to have limited authority by God (see Job 2 for a clear illustration of God giving Satan permission to act).

The End Time Kingdom – Mingled With the Seed of Men?

The Book of Daniel tells us that rulers in the end-time Kingdom will 2:42 And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken. 43 And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay. The phrase “seed of men” is a direct reference to reproduction and DNA. The idea that something other than man will try to join itself to man.

In ancient times, angels, false gods and titans were worshipped and venerated. They attempted to replace the true God of the Bible and “be like the most High” (Isaiah 14). This is covered more in detail in the Nephilim article. The first time fallen angelic beings reproduced with human women, God wiped out the entire world (save for eight people) with the flood of Genesis 6. The pre-flood world was filled with evil, violence and human-angelic hybrids or giants. After the flood the giants appeared again (Numbers 13). And Jesus warned: Matthew 24:37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. If there is an “alien phenomenon” today it is certainly spiritual beings deceiving mankind, not extra-terrestrial life.

Let’s look at some of the same attempts V makes to bring this idea back for the modern world:

  • The arrival of the alien ships trigger worldwide earthquakes (an event that happens to signal the start of The Day of The Lord in Revelation Chapter 6).
  • In a Catholic Church, a giant crucifix with a statue of Jesus on it, falls to the ground and shatters.
  • When the alien “mother ship” appears in the skies of New York, the main characters son utters “my God…” and the screen fades to black.
  • We also see an image of an alien ship hovering over the Cristo Ridentor in Brazil (the largest statue of Jesus in the world).
  • People are shown sitting outside of the V’s New York City embassy worshiping them on their knees.
  • The embassy itself is pyramid shaped and has a pyramid-shaped entrance.
  • The Visitors appear to look just like humans. The Bible confirms that angels can appear to be human. In Genesis 19, the two angels who visit Lot at his home are referred to as “men” and even eat with him. Additionally, Hebrews 13:2 advises that strangers we encounter today could be angels and we do not even realize it.
  • To no surprise, the Visitors can cure 65 diseases that plague humanity and set up “Healing centers.” The public, who already adored them now marvel at the miracles of the aliens and some are seen in the street worshiping them.
  • And there is already a human woman who has been impregnated by one of the aliens.

The Church is Confused

Father Jack never quotes the Bible

Father Jack, a Priest on the show, is one of the main characters. When the aliens show up he immediately tells a more senior priest, “there’s not a lot of Scripture on this”, while referencing the real-life decision by the Vatican to accept the possibilities of extra-terrestrial life. Father Jack continues by saying: “I’m at a loss to explain how God and aliens can exist in the same world.” In short, the church on the show has no answer to explain the alien phenomena. Unfortunately, this could be the case with many churches across America! By getting in The Word, we can be equipped to explain that end-time satanic deception not just to other Christians, but non-believers as well. The Bible is clear that the end-time deception is going to be based on “signs” and “wonders.” Miracles are going to be performed. Contrary to the belief of many, the antichrist will not just be a charismatic politician. He is going to be supernaturally endowed with powers by Satan. The antichrist and false prophet will be performing literal, supernatural acts for people to see (Revelation 13:12-14), so much so that people are going to be in complete awe of them and moved to worship. They are not normal people.  Is your church ready to explain alien, demons or supernatural phenomena? Are pastors preaching on the end-times and providing warnings to their congregations?  They should be.

Much to the surprise of Father Jack, his once empty church is now packed with people seeking answers in light of the alien appearance. The attitude of his senior priest is then that the Visitors are a “godsend” and that since they are packing the pews, they are a good thing! It does not matter if Father Jack is not really answering anyone’s questions. Just get the numbers up and it’s all good. Again, the modern-day church should see a strong lesson here.

Hidden Agenda

The show portrays the V’s as having a sinister agenda and deceiving humanity. They manipulate the media, use false flag attacks, cause wars, distribute dangerous vaccines, and even start tracking human beings. Much of their agenda coincides with the New World Order. However, even if they are portrayed as evil, the show in itself continues the placement of the idea of alien life being real and far superior to human life in the minds of the viewing public. TV and movies continue to promote the potential for alien saviors to arrive one day in the future.  Jesus warned of unparalleled deception in the end-times and the advocates for one world New Age religion are in full support of whatever can move the public consciousness to accept their “leader” and his mystical alien counterparts. We must not be deceived by masquerading spirits and know that there is only Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Apostasy Alert — John Piper’s Invitation of Rick Warren to Desiring God Conference

In Apostate Church, Calvinism, False Teachers on April 8, 2010 at 10:52 pm

Is Mr. Warren really reading that book in his hand?

Many Christian sites are reporting on John Piper’s decision to invite Mega-Preacher of the Seeker Sensitive Method, Rick Warren, to the 2010 Desiring God Conference. Why Piper did this is still not entirely clear to me but I am writing this to register my strong disagreement with his being yolked with Rick Warren. (On the same note I am not in agreement with Mr. Piper on many issues – but at least his preaching has been more sound in the past than that of Mr. Warren’s). This event seems like one that is best to be avoided.

I will be making a more detailed blog about Warren and his Globalist P.E.A.C.E. Plan that pretty much ties right in with the New World Order Agenda. In the meantime, I will just several examples I strongly disagree with Rick Warren’s watered down theology.

First and foremost Rick Warren is world-renowned for his self-help book, the Purpose-Driven Life. While this book has sold millions of copies it presentation of the Gospel is watered-down at best, heresy at worst. Just to provide a few examples of Warren’s mishandling of Biblical doctrine:

Warren on Sin:

“Many people are driven by guilt…. Guilt-driven people are manipulated by memories. They allow their past to control their future. They often unconsciously punish themselves by sabotaging their own success. When Cain sinned, his guilt disconnected him from God’s presence, and God said, ‘You will be a restless wanderer on the earth.’ That describes most people today—wandering through life without a purpose.” (pp. 27-28)

The Bible states: Genesis 4:8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him. 9 And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother’s keeper?

In this passage in Genesis Cain feels no guilt about killing his own brother. Even when questioned by God, he did not hide in shame (like his parents did after they sinned in the Garden of Eden). He lied to God Almighty! That is a sign of someone who does not fear God, not someone who feels guilty. And then after lying he was defiant in his attitude. He was completely rebellious against The Lord.

Furthermore, feelings of guilt did not drive Cain from God’s presence. God punished Cain by banishing him from the face of the Earth. Only after he received his punishment did Cain start to complain about how hard and dangerous it would be for him. But he still showed zero remorse for what he had done. Cain was punished for sin. We are all sinners (Romans 3:23), so Cain serves as an early example of being ultimately punished by God should we die in our sin. Warren not only misinterprets this passage, he does not mention the most important thing: that we are sinners who are destined for punishment without a Savior (who we have in Jesus Christ).

Warren on Salvation

“God won’t ask about your religious background or doctrinal views. The only thing that will matter is, did you accept what Jesus did for you and did you learn to love and trust him?” (p. 34)

The Bible says: Galatians 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. 10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

Considering there is a curse for preaching the gospel any differently than how it was preached by Jesus and the Apostles, doctrine certainly matters. What if someone “learns to love” Jesus and trust him but also believes in the Hindu gods and loves and trusts them as well to the point of worship? What if they learn to love Jesus but do not believe He is the Son of God?  Are they going to Heaven? The Bible says no.

Warren: “If you learn to love and trust God’s Son then you have salvation…Right now, God is inviting you to live for his glory by fulfilling the purposes he made you for..all you need to do is receive and believe” He then asks, “Will you accept God’s offer?” (p. 58). After urging his readers to believe God chose them and receive the Holy Spirit for power to “fulfill your life purpose” (Warren 58), he offers a little prayer that will save people. According to Warren, here is how you are saved: It’s reflected in the prayer of salvation he suggests: “I invite you to bow your head and quietly whisper the prayer that will change your eternity, ‘Jesus, I believe in you and I receive you.” Then he makes this promise, “If you sincerely meant that prayer congratulations! Welcome to the family of God!” (p. 59)

In the Gospel of Luke, Jesus in Chapter 24 visited his disciples after His Resurrection. He then “opened their understanding” to know the Scriptures better and taught them from the Word, starting with the Books of Moses. And then the Bible states: Luke 24: 45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, 46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: 47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Jesus gave clear instructions. The disciples should preach repentance and the forgiveness of all sins by the sacrifice and resurrection of Christ Jesus our Lord. Where is the mention of repentance in Warren’s prayer? Of the sin that we are seeking forgiveness for? The sin that Christ died for? There’s nothing. If we do not recognize or even acknowledge our sin, then how can we truly believe we need a Savior? Or be forgiven for them. This is why Christ said to preach repentance.

Blasphemy?

Of possibly even greater offense was the Inaugural Prayer that Warren recited for President Obama. In this prayer, Warren stated “I humbly ask this in the name of the one who changed my life, Yeshua, Isa, Jesus [Spanish pronunciation], Jesus, who taught us to pray…”

Warren actually referred to Jesus Christ our Savior as “Isa” the name of the Muslim Jesus in the Koran. Isa is not the son of God in Islam (in Islam, Allah has no son). He did not die on the cross. He is not Jesus Christ The Messiah. Again the Bible is clear on this:

Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

That name is Jesus Christ (Christ being his Title as a Savior of Humanity, which Warren neglected to say). To pray in the name “Isa” was heretical, offensive and blasphemous. Webster’s 1828 Dictionary defines blasphemy as ” n. An indignity offered to God by words or writing; reproachful, contemptuous or irreverent words uttered impiously against Jehovah.” By calling Jesus a name from another Holy Book that denies Him being the Son of God and Savior, I think Warren has met the definition.

In conclusion, I strongly oppose inviting a preacher who is not Biblical, changes the Gospel and disrespect God in prayer, to preach at an event. If Mr. Piper wanted to invite Mr. Warren as a guest to sit and enjoy the event and listen to other preachers, that would have been a fine way to include him. But having him “teach” is just a wrong decision. bringing false teachers to the flock is just not good. Mr. Piper, is lacking discernment and just falling deeper into apostasy with this move.

Piper’s Defense

To be fair to John Piper, I will link his own defense below. One wonders why he needed to make a video justifying his invitation of Warren if he was confident in his theology in the first place. That alone should be a red flag.
